Supervisor, Housekeeping/Laundry

The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor will plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations as well as company policy and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
o Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments, coordination with other departments at the facility o Evaluate staffing needs, prepare department schedules and daily assignments of individuals working in the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments o Assist in housekeeping and laundry duties as appropriate for patient census and staff scheduling o Prepare reports and recommendations for the Administrator regarding the operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments o Report all incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions or equipment to Administrator o Inspect work areas and equipment frequently for safety, fire protection and prevention, etc.
o Comply with established infection control and universal precaution practices including isolation procedures in coordination with nursing services, as well as follow fire safety policies and procedures o Make routine rounds and authorize or conduct tours with others, such as the Administrator, other facility staff, government representatives, visitors and others o Delegate a responsible staff member as representative when absent from the facility and find replacements for absent departmental employees o Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and other information relating to patients, employees and facility o Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients' personal and health care needs o Assist others in developing implementing and updating written procedures for discharge planning o Inventory, identify, purchase, and monitor equipment, supplies, etc.
o Maintain a reference library of written housekeeping and laundry resource materials to assist the Housekeeping and Laundry departments in meeting patient's needs o Perform other related duties as assigned by the AdministratorJOB REQUIREMENTS:
